Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data within the Tai Stars app and website.

Short version for families

Tai Stars helps families manage routines, stars, approvals, and rewards. Parents or guardians set up the household and control how children use the app.

We aim to collect only what is needed to provide the app, support the household, manage subscriptions, protect accounts, and respond to support or privacy requests.

No analytics or tracking SDKs are active within the mobile application. Server-side logs are processed securely on our infrastructure to monitor app functionality and reliability.

Controller and scope

Controller: Taparia Labs.

Privacy contact: [email protected].

This policy covers the Tai Stars mobile app and the website at taistars.taparialabs.com.

Data we may process

Parent or guardian account data, authentication identifiers, email address, household membership, role, language, app settings, device details (device ID / IDFV, model, and OS version for secure session management), and support messages.

Child profile data such as name or nickname, age (date of birth is not collected or stored), gender (required solely for personalizing starter habit, rule, and reward templates), optional avatar or photo, and household relationship.

Family-created routines, behavior expectations, rewards, parent approvals or rejections, reward history, star progress, and notes created in the app.

Subscription entitlement status via RevenueCat, and purchase platform information supplied by Apple/Google.

Purposes and legal bases

Provide app functionality, authenticate users, manage households and roles, show progress, process approvals and rewards, provide subscriptions, offer support, improve reliability, protect accounts, and comply with legal obligations.

Possible GDPR legal bases include contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and consent where required.

Processors and transfers

We use reputable third-party processors to help us run the service: Supabase (Data storage/Auth), RevenueCat (Subscriptions), and Resend (Email).

Appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), are used for any data transfers outside the EEA/UK.

See /subprocessors for the full processor list.

Children and families

Tai Stars is intended for family use under parent or guardian setup. Children should use the app as part of a household account managed by a parent or guardian.

In compliance with India's DPDP Act and US COPPA principles, we minimize the collection of children's data and provide tools for parents to manage or delete their children's profiles at any time.

Retention and deletion

Account data is generally retained while the account is active. After deletion, data is soft-deleted immediately and retained for 14 days (to allow account recovery) before being permanently purged.

Some records may be retained longer for legal, accounting, or platform-billing reasons. Account deletion can be triggered inside the app settings.

Your rights (GDPR / DPDP)

You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your data. You also have the right to data portability (downloading your data in a portable format).

You can request a full export of your household data through our support channels or directly within the app settings.

To exercise these rights, contact our privacy officer at the email address provided above.
